gnoesys, the knowledge oasis

Gnoesys (pronounced "know-ay-sis") was a web consulting site, and home to the web's oldest knowledge engineering dictionary, Perspectives. I was partner and webmaster in Gnoesys, which ran from 2001-2007.

The landing page image is a combination of hand-stippled ink and PhotoShop. Art, typography, and layout are my work, but the brainy oasis concept was my partner's idea. The script logo font is Lassigue D'mato, one of my favorite handwriting fonts.

brain droppings

At Gnoesys, brains were so plentiful they dropped from trees! This animated graphic carried the home page image throughout the site. It only runs once (don't want to distract from the content!), so reload to view the animation.
